Task:
To design an e-reader for news, blog, rss, twitter, etc. using the best practices of interactive design and the ideas of productive interaction. Each team will create a design for both a large, newspaper size e-reader and a smaller, book-sized display that the e-reader folds into. The design must have consistency across sizes, while leveraging the best affordances of each.
The project objective is to use innovative approaches to interactive design to access a complex and diverse set of current information. The design teams should consider the approaches of Usability, Experience Design, and Productive Interaction. In particular, the design of the e-reader should enable the user to create their own meaning space where information is not presented in a straight "flat" format. Instead, the user should be offered affordances that enable them to organize, manipulate and view the information the information in a way that lets them to build a custom experience and shape the information to their own goals. The teams should take an experimental approach to the design of this project.
